Analysis
Lines, numbers, extensions, opening hours, call flows and volumes. We verify connectivity and the local network for voice.
IT Solutions › Cloud phone system
Extensions anywhere, one company number that rings on desk phones, computers and smartphones, no hardware in the server room. The AtWorkStudio cloud PBX runs on Asterisk, in a European cloud, managed by us. If your company prefers 3CX or lives inside Microsoft 365 with Teams Phone, we design and manage those.
A box in the server room, cards to replace, a technician to call for every new extension, and people working from home forwarding the number to their personal mobile. Telephony today is a data stream like any other: SIP lines, extensions anywhere, rules that change in minutes. The PBX becomes a service, and we run the service.
The standard calls travel on today: lines and extensions are data streams, not phone cables. A cloud PBX speaks SIP natively, with any operator.
One company number that rings on the desk phone, softphone and smartphone, in the office or working remotely, with the same answering rules, the same hours and the same voicemail.
No PBX to power, update and replace. The platform lives in a European cloud, we maintain it, and the only objects on your premises are the phones, if you want them.
How it works
Four steps, with the old PBX switched on until the moment of the change. Telephony does not stop: it moves.
Lines, numbers, extensions, opening hours, call flows and volumes. We verify connectivity and the local network for voice.
We choose the platform together (Asterisk, 3CX or Teams Phone), design IVR, queues, ring groups and schedules, and define the devices.
We configure the platform, provision phones and softphones and port the numbers. The old PBX stays on until the switch.
Updates, configuration backups, monitoring, changes to extensions and IVR on request, call reports.
We do not sell a PBX: we design it, activate it and keep it running. The reference platform is Asterisk because it gives us full control, has no per-extension licences and does not tie the customer to a vendor: the configuration remains theirs. Voice travels over the same network and the same firewall we manage, so traffic priority and security are designed together, not bolted on afterwards.
For companies using Microsoft 365 the phone system integrates with Teams and the company directory, or becomes Teams Phone outright. The service falls under category D5 of the MIMIT Cloud and Cybersecurity Voucher, with a grant of up to 50% of the expenditure.
Open-source engine in development since 1999, behind many commercial PBX products. No per-extension licence, configuration owned by the customer, hardening and updates handled by us.
The platform lives on European infrastructure, like the rest of our cloud services, with configuration backups and continuous monitoring.
The code that identifies the AtWorkStudio cloud phone system in a MIMIT voucher application: category D5, collaboration and virtual PBX services (UCC and PABX).

The questions we hear before moving telephony to the cloud.
A cloud phone system does everything a traditional PBX does (extensions, transfers, auto-attendant, queues, voicemail) but the software does not run on a box in your office: it runs on a platform in the cloud that we manage. Phone lines arrive as SIP trunks, i.e. as data streams over the Internet, and extensions are IP phones, softphones on the computer or an app on the smartphone. The result is a company number that rings wherever the person is, with no hardware to power, update and replace, and with changes made remotely in minutes.
Asterisk is the open-source telephony engine behind many commercial PBX products and has been in continuous development since 1999. We use it as our reference platform because it gives us full control of the configuration, has no per-extension licence fees and does not tie the customer to a vendor: if one day you want to change provider, the configuration remains yours. Its robustness depends on how it is installed, protected and maintained, which is exactly our job: updates, hardening, configuration backups and monitoring are part of the service, not an extra.
Yes. Number portability is guaranteed by Italian regulation and we handle the process with both the losing and the gaining operator. Timing depends on the losing operator, usually a few working days. We plan the switch so that the old PBX stays live until the moment of the change and the window of unavailability is as short as possible. If you need new numbers, geographic or value-added, we activate them on the same trunk.
An Internet connection sized for the number of concurrent calls (a call uses roughly 100 kbit/s in each direction), a local network with voice traffic prioritised (QoS) and the devices: desk IP phones, softphones on the computer or the smartphone app. No server, no cards, no PBX to install. If we already manage the customer’s firewall and network, QoS and security are already in our hands. We always verify connectivity before activation.
Teams Phone suits companies that already work inside Microsoft 365 and Teams all day: telephony joins the same client, with presence, chat and meetings, and calls to the public network go through a certified operator. 3CX suits companies that already have it in house and know its interface, or that want a commercial licensed platform. In every other case our Asterisk-based PBX is the most flexible and, over time, the most economical choice. We decide together after analysing lines and call flows, not from a catalogue.
Yes. The MIMIT Cloud and Cybersecurity Voucher includes collaboration and virtual PBX services (UCC and PABX) in category D5. AtWorkStudio is an approved supplier with code VCCFA2600000145 and the cloud phone system is entered in the application with code VCCFA2600000145-D5. The grant covers 50% of eligible expenditure, as a direct purchase or a subscription of at least 24 months. The application must be submitted before the service is activated.
Tell us how many lines and extensions you have and how you answer calls today. We will tell you which platform makes sense and what the switch involves. The cloud phone system completes our cloud IT services and integrates with Microsoft 365.
