Cloud IT Services › Storage
Documents, network shares, archives, virtual machine disks: six types of cloud storage, chosen for how you use data today, not for how you used to. Encryption, versioning and immutability where needed, four hosting options, pay for the space you use. A service delivered by a company certified ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, 27018 and ISO 9001.
Almost every company has a server or a NAS with everything inside: people’s documents, the ERP folders, archives from ten years ago, photos of the machinery. All on the same disk, with the same permissions, the same cost and the same risk, and with a backup nobody has ever tried to restore.
In the cloud, data separates by how it is used: what is needed every day close to the people, what must be kept in an archive that costs little and cannot be altered, what applications read on a network path that never changes. Cost follows usage, not the size of the disk bought five years ago.
Documents, network shares, objects, disks and SAN, site-to-cloud sync, archive. The right type for each piece of data, not one for all.
Public cloud, European cloud, private cloud in Italy or on-premises. You choose the jurisdiction of your data, and it stays written in the contract.
Sized on the data you have and paid for the space you use, with hot, cool and archive tiers. No disks bought for the next five years.
People’s files leave the network path and move to a platform with versioning, co-authoring, search and controlled external sharing. Retention and sensitive-data protection included.
SMB folders with today’s domain permissions, for ERP systems, applications and departments that want a network path. Reached from the office, home and site via ZTNA, without VPN, with access tied to identity and device.
Standard, premium or ultra-performance managed disks for virtual machines, and a shared virtual SAN for clusters and databases that need common block storage. Snapshots and redundancy included.
Low-cost long-term storage, immutable for the period you decide, for documents that must remain intact for years: registers, invoices, communications, closed projects. Retrieval on request, tracked for audits.
How we work
Four steps. The first is the one almost nobody does: knowing what is really in the file server before deciding where to put it.
How much data, where it sits, who opens it, how fast it grows, what is used daily and what has slept for years. Permissions, duplicates and orphaned folders surface here.
For each group of data the storage type, service tier, hosting, permissions, retention and immutability. With the cost comparison against the current situation.
Initial copy, synchronisation of the differences, coexistence of old and new, cut-over in an agreed window. Permissions and links preserved, documented rollback.
Monitoring of space and costs, lifecycle rules, versions and restores, permission reviews, periodic reports. The service goes on, it does not end with the migration.
Cloud storage lives in the same four hosting options as virtual machines: public cloud in European regions, European cloud outside US jurisdiction, private cloud in Italy or on-premises. For every piece of data we state where it sits and who has jurisdiction over the provider, and we write it into the contract together with the exit strategy.
And storage does not replace backup: versioning and immutability protect against errors and ransomware inside the service, the independent copy on another platform remains necessary. That is why we design it together with backup and disaster recovery and move it with our migration service.
Inventory, design, migration and ongoing management of capacity, costs, permissions and versions. One fee, one point of contact.
We decide together which storage for which data, hosting, retention and immutability. Your IT implements from our design.
Review of what you have, cost optimisation across hot, cool and archive tiers, retention and audit requirements.
We take over the cloud storage you already have, on any platform, and keep it in order: space, costs, permissions, versions.
The questions we hear before moving a file server, an archive or a cluster’s disks.
Yes, and the route depends on what is inside it. People’s documents, Office files, PDFs, shared projects, belong on a collaboration platform with versioning, co-authoring and controlled sharing: the network path disappears and nobody misses it. Folders used by ERP systems, applications or machinery, which want a classic network path, go on SMB shares in the cloud with the same domain permissions as today. The two coexist, and the initial inventory is exactly what decides folder by folder.
With access tied to the person’s identity and the device’s health, not to the network: the ZTNA model we also use for the cloud firewall. Users open the share as they did before, the link is encrypted and authorised for that person and that device, and anyone not authorised cannot even see that the share exists. For organisations with many sites or many mobile users the same architecture extends to a full SASE service.
You pay for the space you use and for the service tier: hot for data used every day, cool for data read rarely, archive for data that only needs to be kept. Moving data to the right tier is the biggest cost lever, and we do it with automatic lifecycle rules. In every quote we include the comparison with the real cost of an on-site NAS or file server: hardware, disks, power, backup and the people who maintain it.
Wherever you decide, among four options with clear jurisdiction: public cloud in European regions, European cloud outside US jurisdiction, private cloud in Italy or on-premises. S3-compatible object storage and network shares are available on all of them; disks and the virtual SAN follow the virtual machines. The choice is written into the contract together with the exit strategy, as ISO/IEC 27001, 27017 and 27018 require.
No, and it is worth saying plainly. Versioning, snapshots and immutability protect against deletions, overwrites and ransomware, but they live inside the same service: if an administrator makes a mistake, if an account is compromised or if you change provider, you need an independent copy on another platform, with recovery tests. Cloud storage is where the data lives; backup is the copy that saves it when the storage is not enough. We design them together.
Immutable data, once written, cannot be modified or deleted for the period you decide, not even by an administrator with full privileges. It is needed in two cases: against ransomware, which encrypts or deletes everything it reaches, and for compliant retention of documents that must remain intact for years, electronic invoices, registers, communications. We enable it per container or per folder, with a duration defined by the obligation or the risk, and we document it for audits.
On the public cloud we use the native Microsoft Azure services: SharePoint and OneDrive for documents and collaboration, Azure Files for SMB shares, Azure Blob Storage for objects and archive, Managed Disks and Azure Elastic SAN for virtual machines and clusters, Azure File Sync to keep the on-site file server synchronised with the cloud. On the European cloud and the private cloud in Italy we offer S3-compatible object storage and network shares. We name them here and not in the rest of the page because the choice starts from your data, not from a brand.
Yes, in four ways. Full service: inventory, design, migration and ongoing management of capacity, costs, permissions and versions. Architecture only: we decide together which storage for which data and your IT implements. Consulting only: review of what you have, cost optimisation, retention requirements. Management only: we take over the cloud storage you already have and keep it in order. Data migration, when needed, is our migration service, with coexistence and an agreed cut-over.
